West of West partners with OLIN to review the Los Angeles park system

Thrilled to be part of this incredible team led by OLIN for the City of Los Angeles' Park Needs Assessment (LAPNA)! As a proud partner, West of West is deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute our expertise alongside The Robert Group, Kounkuey Design Initiative (KDI), Agency: Artifact, Estolano Advisors, Better World Group, Geosyntec, HR&A Advisors, GreenInfo Network, LANDAU Design + Technology, Dharam Consulting, Calvada Surveying, and ETC Institute.

It's inspiring to see the City of Los Angeles undertake this crucial evaluation of its nearly 16,000 acres of public parkland. Community input is at the heart of this process, with over 82 engagement events planned throughout 2025. We encourage all Angelenos to get involved through surveys and meetings to share their park needs. Community organizations can even apply to be part of the Community Partner Program to help with outreach!

Parks are truly foundational to life in Los Angeles, offering vital infrastructure and environmental benefits, especially in the face of increasing climate instability and events like the recent traumatic fires. This Park Needs Assessment is a generational project, looking 25+ years into the future to develop a Decision Making Framework for prioritizing park investments and allocating resources in an inclusive, accessible, and transparent way.
