Table in the Trees

Willamette Valley, OR
MISSING ALT TEXT

Table in the Trees is a site-specific experience woven into the landscape of the native oak savannah.

Table in the Trees is meant to be discovered—an object embedded in the forest, shaped by weather, time, and growth. Solid and heavy, it forms a lasting connection with the land.

Set beneath a tree canopy and surrounded by wild landscape, the table becomes part of the forest’s quiet rhythm. Dappled light, shifting shadows, glimpses through trunks to the valley beyond—each visit offers something subtly new. Along its 200-foot length, clusters of seating invite gathering and pause.

Created for wine tasting and shared experience, Table in the Trees is cast in place from concrete hand-seeded with stones from the site. Its deep terra cotta surface reveals gem-like fragments, transforming a utilitarian material into something elemental—built not just on the land, but with it.
